MEMORIAL DAY 2010

Grandma Lindsay had the trunk of her car filled to overflowing with flowers for the graves of family members.

It was wonderful to be together with family and visit the graves of our loved ones. Here we are at the grave of Cory Belleau at the Layton Cemetery. The Plan of Salvation makes it a joy to remember each person and the experiences we shared with them and the feelings of our heart for them and anticipate the joys of being together again one day.

This is Ryan, Lisa and their boys.

Julia and the little Belleau boys. That's Boston in the red shirt, Brook and Ryan's big guy.

The group that went with us to the Lindquist Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Ogden...

...and then on to the Ogden Cemetery where we did a little pruning of the ancient rose bush and cleaned up the marker where Grandpa Lindsay is buried. Right next to him, with the rose bush shading her is the grave of mom's mother Romania Hunsaker McKell.

Here is our group this year. It was so wonderful to see the lawns covered with colorful flower bouquets.

We all went our own way for a few hours and reassembled at the Layton city park. Zach and Allison are expecting their first baby, a little boy, the first week of July. They will leave grandma's house and travel to Columbus, Ohio for medical school the first week of August.

My cousins, Jim and Charlene Steele joined us for the picnic.

Mom and I were invited to give our Egypt presentation to Lisa and Bruce's ward and also to Julia's ward on Sunday, so we had a good experience doing that and then visiting with family over dinner at Grandma Lindsay's home. We stayed overnight and were ready to go bright and early with Grandma Monday morning.

It was a so nice to be together with family and join in the traditional family activities. We hope each of you had a good Memorial Day weekend too.
