Summary Since December

We were met by the Christmas lights on Temple Square every morning. What a glorious way to start each day.The missionary work moves forward no matter what the season of the year, so we had work to do in recommending couples for service as Senior Missionaries in the Welfare Department: Humanitarian, Employment, Family Services, Bishops Storehouses, and Ranches.

Mom decorated the house with our traditional Christmas decor and we filled the house with festive Christmas music and the sounds of Steve's kids. Matt and Ellen traveled with their family from Washington to Minnesota to be with Tim and Brett's families for Christmas. What a wonderful and memorable experience for all.

Matt and Ellen returned home and packed the moving truck. They were following a new job opportunity that took them to Las Vegas. It's a big change to go from the green Icicle valley with salmon in the river, bears running through the yard and especially living next door to grandma and grandpa. They made the move and are working through the usual transition pains and adjustments. They moved into a new home in Las Vegas and are settling into their neighborhood and new ward. New callings for Matt as Scout Committee Chairman and Ellen as MIA Maid advisor. Matt's job is going well and best of all he has more time at home with his family.

It was a mild winter with very little snow... bad news for the water needs next summer. We enjoyed some fun times with Bryson and McKay at their basketball games, talked on the phone with family each week and spend a little time with grandma each month. I went up the American Fork Canyon and took a few pictures, but without the usual snow-pack it the pictures just didn't look as beautiful as I expected.

Spring has come, the blossoms have bloomed and things are greening up nicely. Matt and Ellen drove up from Las Vegas to spend a long weekend with us and attend a friends wedding in Logan. Lots of driving for them, but we enjoyed the kids while mom and dad were with their friends. There was some good cousin time and memories made.

Brett and Heather received their third son, and out 15th grandson, Bennett, on March 29th. A lot of joy and excitement in the house shared by his two older brothers. We're looking forward to meeting the newest member of the family soon.

Here are a few pictures to catch you up on the family.

  1. I'm so glad you have picked up the blog again! I kept checking it to no avail. Sue looks beautiful, as ever. Did Steve's pool get finished yet? I love seeing pics of all the family!...and such gorgeous pictures, too.
