Gingerbread Houses
We built a gingerbread house with each of the boys. The frosting was the glue to hold it together.
Grandma is the only one that read the instructions. Come on grandma, let's get going!

Thanksgiving Day
Matt did a great job in the kitchen. I helped with the mashed potatoes.
This bird was hand rubbed with secret sauce and smoked in their smoker. It was moist, tender and deeeelicious!
Mix up your own Italian soda. James went heavy on the whipped cream. Yumm!
It all came together to make a magnificent Thanksgiving feast!
A big Thank You to Ellen and Matt.
Red Rock Canyon Hike and Picnic
It was cool in the valley, in the mid-fifties. But in the canyon in was in the mid-thirties. That's good hiking weather.

Climbing the red rocks
Everyone got into the rock climbing and had a great time.
I think this was the only time the boys were together in one place during the whole hike. It was pretty exciting to be able to free range on the side of this big red rock mountain.

The family
We hiked a little ways up Ice Box Canyon to a picnic site.
We had lunch and a few snowflakes made it a picnic to remember.
Thanks to Matt, Ellen and the boys for making this a fun and memorable Thanksgiving. See you soon.

How nice to have them live so close now! I hope they are enjoying where they are in Las Vegas.
