The Wenatchee River

It's was a hot summer day, so the cold waters of the Wenatchee River sounded like a good idea. We packed a lunch and went down the street to a very nice bend in the river where there was a swimming hole with no river current and a sandy beach.

Spread out the beach towel and make yourself comfortable. PB&J all around, thank you!

We soaked in the view of the river, mountains, and blue sky from our shady spot on the beach. It was refreshing to hear the rushing waters as we ate our lunch.

Time to get out and explore this place.

James and Scott are the first to circumnavigate the swimming inlet and are on to explore the next horizon.

The bottom drops off quickly, but the boys know how to swim and are soon out in the middle swimming and having fun.

Moms venture out to the shore with baby Ben, while James gives Scott a gentle push and an excuse to get in the water again.

That new water gun came in handy today. Benny is getting his first dose of the cold snow-melt runoff waters of the Icicle Valley. They don't call it Icicle for nothing. Brrrrr.

One, two, three... blast 'em with water boys!

A little wading in the shallows for Benny and grandma. It was a great way to have fun with the boys and cool off on a hot summer day.
