McKell Reunion

We're back in the country this year and we're going to the McKell reunion at Sugar house Park in Salt Lake City to see all the aunts, uncles and cousins from all over the place. Grandma Lindsay is the oldest of the children and I'm the oldest grandchild. It was a rainy afternoon, but shortly after dinner started the rains let up and it was a beautiful evening for our reunion.

Children of Grandma and Grandpa McKell (my aunts and uncles):
Hugh, Lael, Elsa Romane (Grandma Lindsay), Janeen, Lynn, LaNon and Veloy

The family gathered and ate dinner together and then moved to the lawn for the pinata. It didn't take long before the job was done and there was a cheer and a rush for the candy that fell to the ground.

No time for selectivity, just grab all you can and get ready to trade with the cousins.

Doug and Jan are back from their mission to Malaga, Spain. Welcome home!

There was a lot of excitement at the water balloon launcher. Pull it back as far as you can and...

...sprrrroing, its launched hundreds of feet away and lands right at the feet of a cousin waiting to get wet.

Lynn built this pop bottle launcher this morning. It's made of PVC pipe and connects to a bicycle tire pump to build up the pressure... then pull the release string and...

...watch out below. The bottle shot up about a hundred feet in the air.

The cousins quickly retrieved the bottle and brought it back to uncle Lynn to fire off again. Lynn was a good sport as he endured the dampening effects of the water spraying from the bottle as it blasted off each time! Thanks Lynn for a fun time at the Sugar House launching pad!

Lee is the chief director of all the family that pass within shouting distance.

He can always point you in the right direction. Hey Lee, where's my wife?

The famous and all-important root beer barrel that contains the "family gathering potion". The barrel may have changed over the years, but the root beer is as good as ever and will keep us coming back for more every year. Thanks for the tasty tradition Blaine and a special thanks to his helpers this year.

It was great to have time to talk and reconnect with one another at the reunion.

 A little cousin connecting time.

Glenys and Lael share the latest news of their families
and look over the family list on the posterity post.

Three generations share stories and time together.

It was a great time and experience to share together... food, root beer, water balloons, rockets, pinata, stories, pictures and time together. Thanks to those that pulled it all together... again. Thank you to grandpa Heber, grandma Romania and grandma Cornelia for the noble birthright that we share through your faithful lives. 'Til we meet again.
