The temple from the SE corner. The temple is at the north end of the downtown section of Washington Street. this is the side facing Washington Street. You can see the new Ogden Tabernacle just beyond the temple.
A view of the back of the temple. Actually this will be the main entrance for patrons. It is close to parking above and below ground.
Original , 1855 Ogden Tabernacle
This is a photograph of the old Ogden Tabernacle, built in 1855. Our GGGGrandfather, William Nicole Fife was the architect that designed it, as commissioned by Brigham Young. The Tabernacle was rebuilt in 1956 and refurbished and rededicated in 1972. It has a pipe organ at one end and seating like the Salt Lake Tabernacle, but all the benches have been removed and replaced with cushioned upholstered seats. Much more comfortable. I'm sure grandpa Fife would approve.
