YARD WORK WEEK

This week we got out into the yard... mom more than me, and got some annuals planted, moved some of the perrenials and discarded a few plants that didn't make it through the winter. My contribution and therapy was to mow the lawn and do a little seeding on some of the thin spots in the lawn.

Mom did a great job of planting the flowers with her artistic touch. The Iceberg rose needed to be transplanted, but it didn't like the move and had to make way for a happier bush, so mom replaced it with another Iceberg rose that is happy and colorful.

The yard is coming together. The trees have been pruned and sprayed, the lawn fertilized, weeds treated and the ground prepared for planting. Now the flowers are in we just need a little sunshine, water and time to make it fill the yard with its beauty.

The cherry trees got too shady and killed the grass under them, so we pruned them to let in more light and then did a little re-seeding to get the lawn back that we lost. That was my project two days after surgery.

It's all coming together. Another few weeks and we should have all the plants in, mulch down and sprinklers adjusted.

We had a storm front move in last night with high winds, rain and a little snow in the mountains. Look closely and you can see the snow on the side of the mountains. That would not have been a happy sight to see snow in our yard. It looks like we're having a cool spring, which is my favorite. It makes for a beautiful lawn and yard.

We had a good week with calls to family and friends. We had a few visitors to see how I was doing and received some flowers and treats that definitely helped me in the healing process. Steve and Jana have sign the papers for their new home in Pleasant Grove. We're excited to have them move in next week. Matt and Ellen are making plans for their new peddle cart business. Brett had a good interview for admittance to the CRNA program and has to be patient and wait until the end of June to see if he is accepted. Tim and Marnie have their home up for sale and are showing it regularly. They are still looking for a new home in the Edina area.

Here is a video of Scotty riding a Ferrari pedal cart.

Have a great week!
