Steve brought his boat over so Matt and Ellen and the kids could go out on the water today. Mom stayed home with Brady and Todd, while the rest of us headed up Provo Canyon for Deer Creek Reservoir for a little time on the water.

Up the canyon to the reservoir, full to the brim with clean cool water.
There always has to be some sort of a problem before you get the boat into the water... this time it was a dead battery. After an attempt to jump it from the land we decided to put the boat into the water and ask some "Good Samaritan" to jump start the boat in the water.
The kids waited patiently to get the boat started, while snacking on the lunch goodies.
We found a "Good Samaritan" and got the boat started. We pushed off and the water fun was officially started.
Steve circled the boat launch area while Matt and I parked the trucks and returned to the dock to get aboard and head out for some fun.
We inflated the water sled and dropped it in the water.
Ryan and McKay were first to jump in and they were ready for some speed!
Steve gave them a great ride and got their faces wet a few times.
We got McKay and Ryan out and loaded the water sled with another group of willing victims.
This time it was Ellen, Scotty, James and Bryson. Once they were in the once-around the lake ride began.
They were back and forth across the wake and yelling go faster all the way.
Four in and four out... we didn't lose one of them!
Next was Tyler and Ryan. They got the full throttle treatment!
Still pictures don't do it justice. These guys got some water in their face and a great ride!
Ryan needed a little more water... as determined by his big brother who pushed a willing Ryan into the lake.
James and Mckay were ready for the final run of the day.
I was trying to eat my sandwich when the great bumps and water appeared, so I didn't get a shot of the biggest splash of the day. Steve took some tight corners and a big wave crashed into the sled and coming out of the wall of water the sled jumped over another wave to give them some air and the best ride of the day.
James after his award winning ride.
We headed back to the boat launch and dropped Matt off to go get the trailer and put it into the water the land the boat and get ready for our trip down the hill to home.
We cleaned up the boat and packed everything in its right place and headed down the canyon, past all the fishermen, hikers, bikers and others, knowing we had the best day together with family.
As we passed by Bridal Veil Falls the car was quiet... all the kids were asleep. It was a great day on the water. Thanks Steve for making a special memory for cousins and all. And a special thank you to Mom for making sure the little ones were safe and had a good time with her.

How fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. I feel like I was there...I can still feel the wind in my hair and ache in my back! If you don't have stock in sunscreen, it would be a sure thing for your family!
