The Salmon Festival started by loading the trailer with all the parts of the Pedal Kart booth. Tables, chairs, tent canopy, log flag stands (drilled and pipes inserted), trees, bushes, signs, pamphlets, business cards and of course the Karts.
It took a couple of loads to get everything there.
Once everything was there it was time to put it all together and make it a beautiful, inviting booth for the Pedal Karts. Matt was the director with a the vision of what it would all look like so he started and we all followed his lead and everything started to come together.
Mom arranged the plants and set up the log poles and barrier flags and made it look beautiful.
After an hour of work it was taking shape. The Karts will be brought out tomorrow. There is a child track in the front and adult/youth track in the back.
Everything was set in place...
by the best setup crew.
Welcome to the Salmon Festival
The next day the family rode the Karts from home to the Salmon Festival, about a mile and a half ride down the pine tree lined street.
Ellen and Todd were the first to show up at the festival.
The first day of the festival we arrived early to dry off the rain, set out the marketing materials and set up the Kart displays and line up the Karts for rides... three Junior Karts for the kids and three full size commercial Karts for the bigger folks.
The Salmon Festival started off with a bang. Kids and their parents came running to ride the Karts. We gave about 2,000 rides in two days! Great exposure to the Karts and we hope that will translate into sales over the next few months
James, Ellen and Scott having fun at the Salmon Festival.

Mom and Scott waiting for the Reptile Show to start.
The reptile show was a lot of fun... lizzards, alagators, turtles and snakes caught the attention of everyone. James was one of the kids chosen to come up and hold the 200 lb. albino anaconda.
James smiles as he holds the big constrictor.
Greetings from one of the Salmon Festival characters.
...back at the Kart booth, Matt and crew were busy setting up rides for the kids, parents and youth.
A look at the rides and booth.
Scott, James and B.J. went kayaking at the festival.
The kids were trying their hand at snow shoeing.
We all had a fun time at the festival this week. The Autumn Leaf Festival is next Saturday and Matt and family are riding the karts in Bavarian costumes. We'd love to see some pictures Ellen.

This looks like fun! I like the baby seat on the back of the cart. Maybe that's where I could ride & Dan could peddal. 8) I'm not sure what the giant snake has to do with Salmon, but I think every festival should have one.
ReplyDeleteI know, I know...I still need to post on my blog again! I have too many pics I want to post & my computer was being slow.
