Tyler Called to Serve

Wednesday evening friends and family gathered to see Tyler open his mission call. Shortly after 6:30 P.M. Tyler opened the envelope and read his mission call from the Prophet.

"Elder Lindsay, You are hereby called to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Washington Everett Mission. It is anticipated that you will serve for 24 months."

"You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center, Wednesday, July 3, 2013. You will prepare to preach the gospel in the English language."

Tyler graciously received the cheers, hugs and congratulations from those there with him and many that were on a conference call from points around the nation. Tyler has received his call to serve and received it with quiet dignity... no fear, no overt expressions, just a big smile and a quiet assurance that his call was from the Lord. We're so proud of you Tyler! You have prepared well. Tyler also received his acceptance to BYU last week, so when he returns from his mission he will attend the family alma mater in Provo.

The Washington Everett Mission is north of Seattle, between Vancouver, British Columbia & Seattle, across the sound from Victoria Island.

Tyler's mission president was just announced. He will enter the mission field the first week of July and  Tyler will enter the MTC July 3. Three weeks later Tyler will leave the MTC and travel to the Washington Everett Mission.

A big hug and congratulations from Lisa...

...before emotions filled her heart and the tears started to flow.

We just can't believe our son is old enough to go on a mission.

Yes, it's signed by the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson.

 Lots of support from friends.

Tyler called Great-Grandma Lindsay to tell her the exciting news.
