This is the lake house from the front. It's a little hard to see it, but the garage door is open, Mom is reading a book in a lawn chair in the driveway and the kids were playing on the scooters, wagon and bikes.
It was a brrrright sunshiny day! We moved to the beach for a little sandcastle time.
Mike was the first to stake out his claim on the sandy beach.
Pretty soon Jack and Maggie were there at his side helping make the castle bricks bigger and stronger.
It was a fun day on the beach.
Grandma and Jack hangin' out on the dock... talking about fishin' and stuff.
Brett, Heather and Parker joined us.
Time to talk, relax and share fun memories.
Parker was Mr. Eager... ready to get into the water and make some waves.
After the beach we went to Nisswa, a small town nearby, for some ice cream and a little walk through town.
Welcome to Nisswa!
Here at the general store, Mom tries on some of the local styles... a real Nisswa girl.
Maggie was in seventh heaven in the girls corner; dolls, purses and lots of frilly stuff.
Down the way we found the Chocolate Ox... the candy and ice cream store. Tim and his family check out the candies and treats before heading to the ice cream counter.
Grandma is always there for you Parker. As long as she is around you'll never go hungry.
Tim and family made their choices and now enjoy the cold delights on a warm afternoon.
Mike was enjoying his chocolate cone.. he was eating it and wearing it. The chocolate ice cream was melting down his hand as faster than he could lick it.
After a trip to the bathroom to clean up we moseyed on down the road to another shop. Mike checks out the Loons and stuff.
Jacks dream is to have a knife, so he was quick to have his Dad take a look at these little knives. Sorry Jack, no sale today. A little more practice and safety training from Dad is on the way.
Parker saddled up the steed in front of the store and showed us his equestrian prowess.
The Irish pizza place provided us a view of three familiar looking leprechauns.
Parker says, "Thanks for bringing me to the lake Mom!"
That evening we made our regular trip to the dock for a little fishing. The fish were biting for the kids.
Brett had the thrill of catching some. This was his first one of the evening.
Our Minnesota Mom always has a beautiful smile for us, especially when surrounded by family.
Jack finished the evening off with the final catch... number four for him!
Tim dives in and swims out to the floating dock and Brett Heather and Parker join us on the dock.
Eating ice cream in the store.
Mom arrives just in time to see Jack catch the first fish of the night.
It was a great day on the beach, Nisswa and fishing. Mike is always ready for one more cast to try to catch the "Big One".
