WILDFLOWERS

Last week we discovered some long lost friends... the Harris'. We were friends in Rochester for five years and we have gone our separate ways for 30 years and retired to the same neighborhood in American Fork. Lowell is an avid photographer and invited me on a trip to take pictures of wildflowers in the Albion Basisn, just above the Alta ski resort. We left at 5:30 am and were in place by 6:00. And then the fun began.

I swatted a swarm of mosquitoes to get this picture. It's hard to hold the camera steady when you are swatting bugs all the time.

When the sun came up this is what the basin looks like. Fields of wildflowers all over and the hillsides are covered too. This is Indian Paintbrush in the foreground.

I think this is a Columbine.

Some more Indian Paintbrush

Three white flowers that looked pretty.

I liked the colors and the contrast of hard rock, soft flower pedals and grass.

These were pretty yellow flowers.

I think these were called Sentinels.

We spent 5 hours walking through the field of flowers, got wet feet and had a great time doing it. Next time we get together I'll show you the rest of the pictures.

Have a great day and checkout my updates on Grandma's blog and the Family History blog.
